Before a fragrance is noticed, its object is. The tin on a shelf and the burner on a table are there long after the scent has faded, so we chose their materials slowly.
Metal
The tin is tinplate with a fine brushed finish, left a matte silver rather than polished to a shine. It reflects light softly and takes on the colour of the room around it. The only mark on the lid is our name, SÉVAURE, embossed into the metal.
Paper
The label is cream, uncoated paper, printed in a single black. Uncoated paper has a slight texture you can feel with a fingertip, and it keeps the print quiet. We kept the words short: what it is, and its number.
Ceramic
The burner in the Cones Set has a textured ceramic body and a metal dome that sits over the lit cone and lets the fragrance through. It is small enough for a side table or a shelf.
Colour
Across all of it, we kept to a narrow range: warm ivory, stone greige, deep espresso, and the natural grey of metal. These are colours you find in plaster, stone and timber, so the objects sit comfortably in real rooms rather than standing apart from them.
None of these choices is loud on its own. Together, we hope, they make something you'll want to keep in view.
